Make & Bind Your Own Junk Journal Pages

Spend a relaxing creative day creating your own unique junk journal from a beautiful collection of papers, vintage-inspired ephemera and handmade details.

You’ll have plenty of papers to choose from, including tea-dyed, vintage and patterned papers, along with additional scraps and decorative elements to create pockets, tags, envelopes and other little surprises throughout your journal.

I’ll share my own process with you as you work, including tips, tricks and ideas for combining different papers and embellishments. You’ll also learn a simple three-hole binding stitch, suitable for beginners, so you can bring your collection of pages together into your own handmade journal.

There will be plenty of opportunities to personalise your journal using glue, double-sided tape, staples, decorative punches and other paper-making tools. You can choose from a range of prepared elements, or create your own details from the materials provided.

At the beginning of the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to take a mini tour of my art studio and look through some of the junk journals I’ve made for inspiration.

What’s included:

• A generous selection of tea-dyed, vintage and patterned papers
• Papers for creating approximately four signatures of around five pages each
• Additional paper scraps for pockets and other details
• Materials for making tags and envelopes
• A selection of prepared envelopes and decorative paper elements
• Access to decorative punches, including paper-corner punches
• Binding materials and all basic tools needed for the workshop
• Tea and biscuits

Please bring your own lunch. There will be a break during the workshop to enjoy your lunch and refreshments.

No previous bookbinding or journalling experience is needed. This workshop is designed to be relaxed and beginner-friendly, with plenty of room to experiment and create a journal that reflects your own style.

This workshop can be booked on its own, or combined with my Hand-Stitched Patchwork Journal Cover workshop. The two workshops can be enjoyed independently or together as a two-part journal-making experience.
